SK8s UK Ltd
Jon Crawford has been running an indoor skating event in Lincoln for a few years. SK8s operate on Friday and Saturday nights for 2 hours. The event is open to all abilities and skates are available to hire. Admission is £5 per person.
SK8s had previously done very well but after a sustained period of underinvestment Jon decided he wanted to bring it up to date and use social media to revive it. Jon contacted Arora Marketing via our Facebook page.
We needed to inform people in Lincoln about SK8s as well as inspire people of all ages to come and try it out.
Revamp the old logo and website to make it more user friendly across all devices and attractive to all age ranges.
Begin a Facebook and Twitter page that reflected the new image.
Increase followers and publicise the website via a competition.
Create ideas to make the page and website more interactive, for example:
- Skater of the Night – selected each week and displayed on the facebook page or website
- Rate my Skate – encourage written reviews with a star rating
- Suggest a Song – people are invited to suggest a song they want to hear on the night they skate
Reach out to as many community contacts as possible to offer support in terms of prizes to help generate interest
Begin the blog process to encourage sharing and link building, all of which assists with google rankings and promotion.
The Website went live on May 28th 2015 and in that time has had over over 1500 users with 2300 page visits.
The Facebook page has increased likes from 424 to over 800 in 3 months with minimal promotional spend and many organic likes.
There are now 21 5* reviews on the Facebook page
The number of new attendees has grown and grown, even during the warmer nights when this is traditionally a quieter time.
The owners of the business now have more time to dedicate to other matters.
